ABOUT RNSIT MCA DEPARTMENT
The department of MCA is headed by Dr. Kavya N P having more then 15 years of experience. The program had its inception in the academic year 2003-04. In a very short span of 3 years, the department is ranked amongst the top in all VTU colleges. The training imparted at MCA is focused on catering to the industrial demand for professionals with a sound knowledge of advanced technologies like NET, J2EE, Database administration etc.
The long term objectives of the department are :-
--> To set-up a software R&D centre in the campus.
--> To built a strong Industry Institution Interface
--> To explore areas to generate fund for the department.

Special Features
The department regularly arranges for Guest lecture on topics in cutting edge technologies & visits to software firms & research organization. High speed internet lab is provided for both staff & students which is kept open till mid-night everyday. The students of 3rd & 5th semesters are given special training in aptitude and technical areas so as to qualify them for placement. Along with this, personality development programs and soft skill development programs are also being conducted for students to face the competitive world.
--> College is arranging Industrial visits for the students of MCA in each semester. As a part of this programme, students are visiting reputed scientific organizations and software companies, to help them be aware of new technologies and research areas.
--> Each student of every semester is bound to present concept seminars, which will-improve his/her ability in presentation and also build-up confidence.
--> Well equipped library with more than 1000 books are available exclusively for MCA students.
--> A full networked browsing centre is kept open for the students till 12 midnight everyday.
--> Students are given rewards for excellence in academics and also in extra-curricular activities.
Future Plans
Tieing up with software companies to have having continuous interaction.
To train the student for Aptitude and Technical written tests and/ or interviews to help in campus selection and for entrepreneur development.
Personal attention for students at all levels.
